ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani on Monday said that “our top priority is to provide salaries for Kurdistan Region civil servants. We are constantly in contact and coordinating with the Iraqi government to resolve this issue.”

The Prime Minister's remarks came in his speech after laying the foundation stone for the Baadre - Etit Road, which will be 26 kilometers long and cost 135 billion 584 million dinars.

“In general, Baadre, Shekhan, Duhok, Erbil, and Kurdistan as a whole will benefit greatly from the completion of this road. We are beginning to work towards improving the extensive network of roads and highways throughout Kurdistan. In the Kurdistan Region, we have begun building roads in accordance with international standards with the assistance of foreign experts and local capabilities,” the premier added.

The Prime Minister also emphasized, “Despite all the economic and financial challenges, we continue to work on road construction. With improved economic and financial conditions, we are certain to implement these projects more extensively and more quickly."

“According to recent figures, traffic accidents in this region have decreased in recent years. We were extremely concerned about them and I hope that with the implementation of these projects and roads, traffic accidents will decrease every day,” Barzani noted.
