Lightning caused fire to many places in Erbil, capital city of Kurdistan Region
The fire is under control in Grdjutiar, Pirmam road, Grd Mala village and Daratu, but not everywhere.
ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – In a statement to Kurdistan 24, the Erbil Fire Brigade’s Official Officer and spokesperson, Shakhawan Jaf confirmed last night’s lightning-thunderstorm caused fire in several places in Erbil, the capital city of Kurdistan Region.
An abrupt weather change occurred on Sunday night in Kurdistan Region, particularly, in Erbil. A heavy thunderstorm, lightning, strong wind, and raining hit the city.
“The lightning caused fire to the following places, Grdjutiar, Pirmam road, Grd Mala village and Daratu, they have been under control” According to the spox’s statement.
“While the fire in Kirkuk Road area, Qupaqran and Bnaslawa is yet to control. We will, shortly, keep the public updated with the damages caused by the lightning fire” Jaf added.
