Five Members of a Family Drown in Dukan Lake

ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) – Five members of a family tragically drowned in Dukan Lake in Raparin Indipendent Administration on Friday, according to the spokesperson of the Raparin Civil Defense Police.

Ali Qadir, spokesperson of Raparin Civil Defense Police, confirmed to Kurdistan24 that all five victims were members of the same family and were shepherds in the area.
Qadir explained that the tragedy began when a child from the family fell into the water. In their attempt to rescue the child, the other family members also drowned one after another.
The bodies were recovered by a diving team and have been taken to the forensic medical examination in Ranya, Qadir stated.
