We engaged in productive discussion with Kurdistan Region officials: Iran's acting Foreign Minister

Bagheri also emphasized the importance of strengthening relations with the Kurdistan Region, especially in terms of developing trade between Iran and the Kurdistan Region.

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – Ali Bagheri, the Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran, announced in a presser on Friday that during their visit to Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, they engaged in productive discussions with officials representing the Kurdistan Region.

“I would like to express my gratitude to the Iraqi officials, particularly those from the Kurdistan Region, for their condolences following the passing of the Iranian President and other officials,” Iran's acting Foreign Minister added.

Bagheri also emphasized the importance of strengthening relations with the Kurdistan Region, especially in terms of developing trade between Iran and the Kurdistan Region.

Bagheri arrived in Erbil on Friday and met with top Kurdish officials including Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani and President Nechirvan Barzani.

Iran's former President Ebrahim Raisi and his team were killed when their helicopter crashed in East Azerbaijan Province. The tragic accident occurred due to bad weather conditions. Despite an exhaustive 18-hour search, the wreckage of the helicopter was eventually discovered, confirming the loss of all nine passengers, including Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian.
