Investment projects in Zakho total 48
Project supervisor Assem Shekho informed Kurdistan24 that ongoing projects include the development of a hotel, motel, park, and mountain cornice.

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – In the past four years, Zakho has witnessed significant growth in investment and tourism. 48 investment licenses have been issued, resulting in the implementation of 15 projects worth more than $55 million.
Project supervisor Assem Shekho informed Kurdistan24 that ongoing projects include the development of a hotel, motel, park, and mountain cornice.
Dilshad Khalil, director of licensing at the Zakho General Directorate of Investment, highlighted the strong focus on the tourism sector. "About 400,000 tourists visit Zakho annually, so most of our projects are in the tourism sector," Khalil stated.
Continued investment in tourism infrastructure is expected to further boost the region's attractiveness and economic growth.
Zakho has experienced significant economic development in recent years. This growth can be attributed to various factors, such as increased investment in infrastructure, the establishment of new businesses, and the growth of tourism in the region. As a result, Zakho has become a thriving economic hub, attracting both local and international investors.
