Erbil to host new IBBC office amid promising investment opportunities, says KRG Investment Board head
Shukri revealed that a dedicated panel focusing on the Kurdistan Region will be held tomorrow, aimed at showcasing investment prospects and familiarizing forum participants with the region's potential.

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – Mohammed Shukri, Chairman of the Kurdistan Board of Investment, told Kurdistan24 on Monday that the highlight of the Iraq-UK Economic Forum is the inauguration of the Iraq Britain Business Council (IBBC) office in Erbil. This significant development aims to strengthen economic ties and foster investment opportunities in the region.
Shukri revealed that a dedicated panel focusing on the Kurdistan Region will be held tomorrow, aimed at showcasing investment prospects and familiarizing forum participants with the region's potential. He emphasized the region’s abundant investment opportunities within Iraq, highlighting upcoming strategic projects in economic infrastructure, dams, tourist attractions, and the development of industrial and agricultural cities.
He also added that Prime Minister Masrour Barzani is committed to creating more opportunities and facilities to attract foreign investors to the Kurdistan Region.
The forum has attracted 25 Kurdish companies, representing sectors such as education, higher education, construction, and digital technologies. These companies will participate in the 12th IBBC conference, set to commence on Tuesday in London.
The conference will see participation from key figures, including representatives from the Iraqi government, business leaders, investors, and delegates from British and international companies. Held biannually, the IBBC conference alternates between the UAE and London, with officials from Erbil, London, and Baghdad attending. The primary aim of the conference is to enhance trade and economic relations between the participating regions.
