KDP’s President Barzani made intensive, productive, historic, unique (1.5) Day Visit in Baghdad
President Barzani had more than 17 successful sessions with the political parties’ leaders, international and local governmental and political officials, only in less than 2 days, in Baghdad. This visit was very historic and unique that happened in Baghdad. All the parties who met with President Barzani on July 3rd and 4th, highly valued his visit.
ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) – The Kurdistan Democratic Party KDP’s President Masoud Barzani made an intensive and productive 2 Day Visit in Baghdad. Two days were intensively full of meetings and sessions to transfer Iraqi country to Peace and Stability.
President Barzani had more than 17 successful sessions and meetings with the political parties’ leaders and high-ranking governmental and political officials in Baghdad. It was advised by the President Barzani’s Headquarters, the aim of the visit was to fix the internal issues in Iraq, the suspended issues between Erbil and Baghdad to get sorted out, encouraged for good intentions to dominate the atmosphere in the state, as well as emphasized the continuous collaboration among all in Kurdistan and Iraq.
After arrival in Baghdad airport on Wednesday, President Barzani and a number of Kurdistan Region’s Governmental and political delegates were warmly welcomed by Iraqi Federal Parliamentary and Governmental officials, leaders and ministers.
The, almost 2-Day-Visit in Baghdad was very historic and unique, that happened and became an international visit to meet with the international officials as well.
President Barzani and Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani and other Iraqi leaders met to discuss the ongoing coordination between Baghdad and Erbil. They underscored the importance of addressing all unresolved issues, supporting and assisting the political process.
Discussions during the meetings also covered Iraq's political situation, oil issues, the budget, financial entitlements of the Kurdistan Region, and the election of the House of Representatives speaker.
Barzani affirmed his support to Prime Minister al-Sudani’s cabinet, underlined that its formation established on the constitutional principles and agreements.

President Barzani, on the very Wednesday, met with the British Ambassador to Iraq Stephen Hitchen. Sir Hitchen expressed the United Kingdom's support towards President Barzani's visit and highlighted the importance of improving relation between the Kurdistan Region and Iraq. He pointed out that UK’s diplomatic and supportive efforts aimed to sort out all issues.

The U.S. Ambassador to Iraq, Alina Romanowski, tweeted, “Always a pleasure to meet with KDP President Masoud and discuss our important relationship,” following their meeting on Wednesday.
“Talked about the regional situation and continued U.S. engagement in the IKR [Iraqi Kurdistan Region],” she continued, “and our support for free and fair IKR elections on October 20.”

The Ambassador of the People's Republic of China Cui Wei in a meeting with President Barzani expressed his gratitude and affirmed China's support for resolving the disputes between Erbil and Baghdad. He also expressed his enthusiasm for the upcoming Kurdistan parliamentary elections.

In that very extensive schedule, President Barzani continued to meet with all the ambassadors from Russia, France, Iran, Arab countries and Iraqi Governmental and political leaders.

The Republic of Iraq’s President Latif Rasheed greatly welcomed President Barzani in the Presidency Palace, in Iraq, on Thursday evening. A number of governmental, political parties’ leaders, and political officials attended the meeting.
