Revolutionary Youth Movement allegedly kidnaps, recruits children in Qamishli, Hasakah

The Syrian Network for Human Rights reported that the Revolutionary Youth Movement abducted three children from the Zhuri Neighborhood of Qamishli, subjecting them to armed training with the intent of recruiting them. The children are aged between 12 and 13.

ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) – The Revolutionary Youth Movement, or Tevgera Ciwanên Şoreşger in Kurdish, affiliated with the Democratic Union Party (PYD), has allegedly kidnapped four young men in Qamishli and Hasakah for recruitment into the organization's ranks, according to reports.

The Syrian Network for Human Rights reported that the Revolutionary Youth Movement abducted three children from the Zhuri Neighborhood of Qamishli, subjecting them to armed training with the intent of recruiting them. The children are aged between 12 and 13.

Families of the abducted children stated they sought help from various institutions, including those under the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) government, but their efforts yielded no information on the children's whereabouts.

In a separate incident, the Syrian Network for Human Rights reported the kidnapping of a 13-year-old child in Hasakah. His family has not received any information about his condition or location.

"Despite warnings from the international community and human rights organizations, armed groups of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) continue to abduct and arm children, violating their human rights," the statement added.
