Peshmerga Minister highlights steps toward unification

Peshmerga Minister Shorsh Ismail confirmed the existence of strong relations with the Iraqi Ministry of Defense and announced significant steps to organize and unify the Peshmerga forces.

ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) – On Tuesday, the Minister of Peshmerga Shorish Ismael participated in the graduation ceremony of several ministry officers from the eighth session of the Staff College in Chiwarqurna, highlighting the unification process and the ties and communication with the Iraqi Defense Ministry.

Peshmerga Minister Shorish Ismail confirmed the existence of strong relations with the Iraqi Ministry of Defense and announced significant steps to organize and unify the Peshmerga forces.

Speaking during the graduation ceremony of several ministry officers from the eighth session of the Staff College in Chwarqurna, Ismail emphasized, "The graduation of these officers will provide greater momentum to the Ministry of Peshmerga in combating terrorism and its threats."

Ismail highlighted the positive relationship between the Peshmerga Ministry and the Iraqi Ministry of Defense, stating, "The Peshmerga Ministry has a good relationship with the Iraqi Ministry of Defense."

He further explained, “Every year, the Ministry of Peshmerga sends dozens of officers abroad to participate in military courses in coordination with the KRG’s allies. Locally, officers from the Ministry of Peshmerga attend courses at the Staff College in Baghdad and other military colleges.”
