PM Barzani expressed condolences to the victim of ISIS attack in Qarahanjir
He emphasized that this attack by ISIS terrorists confirms that the terrorist organization remains a threat.
ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani on Sunday sent his deepest condolences to the family of Jwamer Azir Rashid, who was killed in an ISIS attack in Kirkuk's Qarahanjir subdistrict today.
"May God rest his soul in paradise and grant patience and peace to his family. I also wish a speedy recovery for the injured," the prime minister added.
He emphasized that this attack by ISIS terrorists confirms that the terrorist organization remains a threat. The international community should continue to support Iraq and the Kurdistan Region in their fight against these terrorists.
On Sunday morning, two ISIS fighters infiltrated the town of Qarahanjir, located east of Kirkuk Province. As a result of this infiltration, one person was killed and another person was injured.
Moreover, on Saturday in a clash between ISIS fighters and Iraqi security forces in Diyala province, an Iraqi army officer and three soldiers were killed, with four others sustaining injuries.
