KDP President Masoud Barzani receives British Ambassador to Iraq

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) President Masoud Barzani met with Stephen Charles Hitchen, British Ambassador to Iraq, in Erbil's Pirmam district on Sunday, according to a statement from Barzani Headquarters.
Andrew Bizley, British Consul General in Erbil, also attended the meeting.
The British Ambassador to Iraq expressed appreciation for President Barzani's visit to Baghdad and his meetings with various parties. The ambassador emphasized that the visit had created a positive political atmosphere.
President Barzani discussed the outcomes of his visit to Baghdad during the meeting and emphasized the importance of conducting the Kurdistan parliamentary elections as scheduled.
Other discussion topics included regional events and developments, the threat of terrorism, and the future of the coalition forces' presence.
President Barzani on July 3 conducted 17 productive meetings with Iraqi political party leaders and senior governmental and political officials. The purpose of the visit was to address internal issues in Iraq, resolve the longstanding disputes between Erbil and Baghdad, foster a climate of goodwill, and underscore the importance of ongoing collaboration among all stakeholders in the Kurdistan Region and Iraq.
