Top Kurdistan Region officials to attend Paris Olympic opening ceremony

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani and Erbil Governor Omed Khoshnaw are set to attend the highly anticipated opening ceremony of the Olympic Games in Paris tonight at 8:30 PM.

In a historic first, the ceremony will take place outside the traditional stadium setting, unfolding along the picturesque banks of the Seine River and weaving through the heart of central Paris. The event promises a unique spectacle, showcasing the city’s iconic landmarks in a grand celebration of athletic excellence.

According to the Kurdistan Region presidency, Kurdistan Region President Barzani has been specially invited to participate in the tournament's opening, marking a significant honor for the region.

Governor Khoshnaw, who is already in France, will also attend the Olympics and participate in a climate conference, underscoring the region's commitment to global environmental issues.

The Olympic Games will continue with various competitions until August, drawing athletes and spectators worldwide to witness this extraordinary global event.
