Erbil authorities plan eco-friendly development of industrial areas

ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) – The Ministry of Municipalities, Erbil Province, and the Environmental Protection and Repair Board are collaborating on new initiatives to enhance industrial areas in Erbil using environmentally friendly materials.

On Wednesday, Sasan Awni, Minister of Municipalities and Tourism, Omed Khoshnaw, Governor of Erbil, and Abdulrahman Sadiq, Chairman of the Board of Environmental Protection and Improvement, held a meeting at the Ministry of Municipalities and Tourism office to discuss these initiatives.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Municipalities, the meeting focused on expanding and organizing industrial zones while increasing green spaces to protect the environment.

The Erbil Development Planning Directorate presented an analysis of the current state of industrial zones and strategies for environmental protection in the city.

The officials emphasized the importance of prioritizing public interest by developing industrial zones that consider both the health and aesthetics of the city. They discussed modernizing these sectors in alignment with Erbil's master plan, ensuring that the organization and expansion of industrial zones are conducted in a sustainable manner.

The meeting concluded with a commitment to implement new and necessary measures that utilize environmentally friendly materials, aiming to balance industrial growth with environmental conservation in Erbil.
