US reaffirms support for free, fair Kurdistan Region parliamentary elections

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – On Tuesday, the United States reaffirmed its support for free, fair, and secure elections in the Kurdistan Region during a meeting between Kurdistan Region's Minister of Interior Rebar Ahmad and US Consul General Steve Bitner.

The US Consulate General in Erbil released a statement highlighting the discussions between the two officials.

Consul General Bitner emphasized the importance of the upcoming elections for the Kurdistan Parliament and reiterated the US commitment to supporting the democratic process in the region.

During their meeting, Interior Minister Rebar Ahmad and Consul General Bitner also discussed the vital security partnership between the United States and the Kurdistan Region.
