ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – A woman was arrested on Wednesday after a disturbing video surfaced online depicting her brutally torturing her four-year-old daughter.

The Erbil Security Directorate issued a statement following the public outcry, confirming the arrest of the woman, identified as (ZWM) from Baghdad. The woman, an Iraqi Arab living in Erbil for work, was apprehended by order of the Erbil Security Investigation Judge.

Initial investigations revealed that the child, a four-year-old girl, had been separated from her father for some time.

The woman, who works in nightclubs, admitted to the horrifying act, claiming that she had become frustrated with the child's behavior.

The Erbil police are continuing their investigation into the matter and are preparing a medical report to assess the child's condition.

The report will be submitted to the relevant authorities for further action.

The incident has sparked widespread outrage and condemnation in the Kurdistan Region, highlighting the urgent need for increased awareness and protection of children's rights.
