ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – On Sunday, Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) President Masoud Barzani received the Italian Ambassador to Iraq, Mr. Maurizio Greganti, in Pirmam, as the ambassador concluded his tenure in Iraq.

During the meeting, Ambassador Greganti emphasized the strong friendship between the Italian and Kurdish people, expressing hope for the continued expansion of relations between Italy and the Kurdistan Region.

President Barzani extended his best wishes to the outgoing ambassador, describing the relationship between the Kurdish people and Italy as both historic and friendly.

The discussion also covered a range of topics, including the political situation in Iraq, the relations between the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) and the Federal Iraqi Government, regional threats and developments, the presence of coalition forces in Iraq, and the significance of the upcoming October elections in the Kurdistan Region.
