Unidentified drone shot down in Kirkuk, says Kirkuk Operations Command

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) - The Kirkuk Operations Command announced today the downing of an unidentified drone in northern Kirkuk for unauthorized flight.

The drone crashed in a residential area, with debris landing in the yard of a house.

Kurdistan24's Hemn Delo, reporting from the scene, stated that several explosions were heard before a smoking object fell in central Kirkuk.

The incident occurred in the Tise'en neighborhood on Quds Street. Security forces have cordoned off the area, and intelligence agencies are investigating the origin of the drone.

According to police, there were no casualties, although a piece of the drone landed in a house's yard, causing a fire quickly extinguished by the Kirkuk Civil Defense team.
