Kurdish resident of Kalakçi fatally stabbed in Istanbul
The victim, identified as Hakim Luqman, a 45-year-old car dealer and father of three, was in Istanbul with his brother and a cousin. The trio had been in the city for several days before getting into a brawl with a group of over 10 people in front of the Hotel Zurich.
ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – A resident of the Kalakçi sub-district in Duhok province was stabbed to death on Sunday morning in front of a hotel in Istanbul, Turkey. His brother, who was involved in the incident, has been arrested.
The victim, identified as Hakim Luqman, a 45-year-old car dealer and father of three, was in Istanbul with his brother and a cousin. The trio had been in the city for several days before getting into a brawl with a group of over 10 people in front of the Hotel Zurich.
Luqman's relatives in Kalakçi told Kurdistan 24 that they are unaware of the cause of the fight and that Istanbul police have not yet released any information about the incident.
"Hakim and his brother, along with a cousin, had been in Istanbul for several days, but had a fight with more than 10 people this morning," a relative said. "None of the assailants have been captured.”
Several members of Luqman’s family have traveled to Turkey to repatriate his body and investigate the circumstances surrounding his death.
