PM Masrour Barzani opens HITEX24 Exhibition in Erbil, showcasing global tech innovations

Organized in coordination with the Kurdistan Regional Government, the exhibition, under the media sponsorship of the Kurdistan24 Foundation, will run until September 6th.

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – On Tuesday, the Kurdistan Region’s Prime Minister Masrour Barzani opened the fifth Hitex International Exhibition (HITEX24), a premier showcase of global technological advancements, in Erbil.

Organized in coordination with the Kurdistan Regional Government, the exhibition, under the media sponsorship of the Kurdistan24 Foundation, will run until September 6th. This year's event welcomes approximately 150 companies from 21 countries, solidifying its position as a pivotal tech hub in the region.

Hitex, short for "Hawler Information Technology Exhibition," offers a comprehensive platform for showcasing the latest breakthroughs in computers, electronics, and the broader digital realm.

It serves as a week-long celebration of technology, featuring cutting-edge innovations in artificial intelligence, robotics, drones, smart homes, computers, mobile devices, software, and more.

Beyond its technological core, the exhibition also embraces digital photography, gaming, YouTube content creation, and other creative pursuits, with notable personalities slated to participate.

Prime Minister Barzani has consistently championed technological transformation as a key objective for the Kurdistan Regional Government. In the previous edition of Hitex, he emphasized technology's role in combating corruption and streamlining administrative processes.

This year, Hitex shines a spotlight on 40 small projects by local innovators, providing them a platform to present their ideas in various tech domains, particularly artificial intelligence, robotics, computers, mobile devices, and software.

The exhibition's opening marks an exciting chapter in the Kurdistan Region's ongoing journey toward technological advancement, promising a dynamic showcase of innovations that will shape the future.

What Sets HITEX 2024 Apart

Several key features distinguish this year's HITEX from previous editions:

Falling Walls Lab Erbil

For the first time, HITEX24 will host the Falling Walls Lab Erbil, organized by Open Space Academy in collaboration with Salahaddin University. This platform allows students and entrepreneurs to present their groundbreaking ideas in three minutes, providing an opportunity to showcase innovations with a positive impact on science and society.

Hitex Future Stars Program

The Hitex Future Stars program returns this year on a larger scale, with increased corporate support. This initiative aims to empower young entrepreneurs by providing them with a platform to present their projects to thousands of attendees.
