Important documents, equipment belonging to ISIS during Anbar Operation: Yehia Rasool

Erbil (Kurdistan 24) – Iraqi forces successfully conducted a significant operation against ISIS leaders in the Anbar desert, killing 14 terrorists, including high-ranking commanders and suicide bombers.

Major General Yehia Rasool, spokesperson for the Commander-in-Chief of the Iraqi Armed Forces, revealed details of the qualitative operation on Tuesday, highlighting advancements in Iraq’s air defense system.

The operation, carried out in the al-Hazimi area, east of Wadi al-Ghadhf deep within the Anbar Desert, under the supervision of the Commander-in-Chief and with intelligence support, involved the precise targeting of terrorist hideouts through a series of surprise air strikes and an airdrop of mobile units, in coordination with the international coalition.

Rasool emphasized the high level of coordination with the Joint Operations Command, stating, "The locations of the terrorist elements were identified," and that "the operation resulted in the killing of 14 terrorist elements, including leaders of ISIS terrorist gangs and suicide bombers, and the seizure of important documents and equipment belonging to them."

He underscored the success of these operations in dealing severe blows to ISIS and reiterated the ongoing commitment to pursuing and eliminating terrorists across Iraq, stating, "Wherever terrorist gangs are, they will be pursued and targeted."

Earlier, the Joint Operations Command announced the successful operation, noting that important first-rank ISIS leaders were among the deceased.

All hideouts, weapons, ammunition, and logistical support were destroyed, and explosive belts were detonated. Additionally, important documents and communication devices were seized.
