Kurdish writers, authors condemned shutting down Galawezh center
The sources confirmed that Galawezh offered a great service to the Kurdish cultural and literature movement.

ERBIL, Kurdistan Region (Kurdistan 24) – Hundreds of Kurdish writers and authors sent out a condemnation letter to Kurdistan 24 on Saturday, expressing their concerns about the action took against Galawezh Intellectual Center.
The statement said “we are anxious and dissatisfied with prevailing Galawezh Cultural Center, we believe such action and behavior are utterly against enlightenment thought and free thinking”
“It is a stigma goes on to the capital of culture and enlightenment thought” The statement added
The sources confirmed that the center for thought enlightnement, Galawezh offered a great service to the Kurdish cultural and literature movement.
The Galawezh cultural and literature center had a bright history in the country, participated in 26 festivals.
Extinguishing Galawezh’s light, will harm the development of Kurdistan's literature and cultural current.
The background of seizing
On the night of September 5, forces affiliated with the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) seized the premises of the Chawder Network, which houses several notable platforms, including Radio Madaniyat, the Galawezh website, the Chawder website, the Rwanga U Rexne (Perspective and Criticism) website, the Dabran Platform, the Chawder Sculpture Project, and the Chawder Gallery.

In a statement published by the PUK-affiliated website PUKMEDIA, the financial institutions of the PUK justified the action, claiming that the Chawder Center’s property, equipment, and resources were provided by the party.
