In a statement from Barzani's office, the Iraqi delegation expressed gratitude for their visit to the Kurdistan Region and commended President Barzani's pivotal role in Iraq's post-dictatorship era.

They highlighted their discussions with Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) officials, emphasizing the importance of fostering trust and transparency to resolve challenges and move forward.

"The meetings with the Kurdistan Regional Government have been fruitful, and we are committed to reaching a full understanding to address issues in an atmosphere of trust and transparency," the delegation stated.

During the meeting, President Barzani extended a warm welcome to the high-level delegation and expressed optimism that their visit would result in positive developments for both Iraq and the Kurdistan Region.

He took the opportunity to reflect on the Kurdish people's historical struggle and sacrifices in the 20th century.

"After 2003, there was an expectation to build a new Iraq as a model of coexistence, power sharing, democracy, and pluralism," Barzani said, reiterating the Kurdish people's determination to secure their rights and maintain their partnership within Iraq.

Barzani expressed frustration over attempts to reduce the Kurdish cause to issues of salaries, stressing that the Kurdish struggle extends far beyond financial matters.

He added that respecting the demands of the Kurdish people and addressing the legacy of atrocities such as the Anfal campaign and chemical attacks is vital.

"The best way to resolve these issues is through dialogue and mutual understanding between the Iraqi Federal Government and the Kurdistan Regional Government," Barzani said, calling for adherence to the Iraqi constitution and the political agreements made by the coalition parties.

He also praised Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani for his efforts in removing obstacles and working toward resolving ongoing disputes, stressing the importance of constitutional compliance for the success of these negotiations.
