PM Barzani discusses parliamentary election preparations with US Ambassador

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani met with the US Ambassador to Iraq, Alina Romanowski, on Monday to discuss the upcoming parliamentary elections in the Kurdistan Region. During the meeting, Prime Minister Barzani stressed the need for peaceful and transparent elections, calling for international supervision to ensure a fair process free from violations.

Barzani emphasized the government's commitment to upholding democratic principles, noting that elections are crucial to the political future of the region. He also underlined the importance of ensuring that the election process reflects the will of the people.

In addition to the election discussions, the meeting touched on relations between the Kurdistan Region and the Iraqi government. Prime Minister Barzani highlighted the constructive dialogue held during the recent Iraqi Council of Ministers for Economic Affairs meetings in Erbil, praising the positive developments in cooperation between the two governments.
