ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – On Sunday, the Kurdistan Region's President (KRP) Nechirvan Barzani emphasized the importance of maintaining unity and social stability during the upcoming election campaigns, urging political parties to avoid divisive tactics that could harm the social fabric of the Kurdistan Region.

In a press conference held on Sunday, Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani addressed the media, underlining the progress made in the independent administration of Zakho over the past three years.

"Many admirable projects have been undertaken to improve this region, and our people deserve even more," Kurdistan Region President Barzani said.

He praised the efforts of those who have contributed to the development of Zakho, noting, "I commend everyone who has worked hard to make these positive changes a reality."

However, Kurdistan Region President Barzani also expressed concerns about the potential for election campaigns to become confrontational.

"There must be campaigns, but they should not be conducted in a way that harms anyone. In the end, we are all in the same boat," he remarked.

He stressed that while elections are a normal and necessary part of the democratic process, they should not descend into actions that could disrupt the region’s social security.

"The election campaign must not undermine the social stability of the Kurdistan Region," Kurdistan Region President Barzani urged, calling for respectful and peaceful conduct during the electoral period.

The KRP, Nechirvan Barzani, also reassured the public that the KRG remains committed to resolving ongoing issues through the framework of the Iraqi constitution. "We are working hard to address the challenges facing the region in a constitutional manner," he stated.

During his visit to Zakho, Kurdistan Region President Barzani praised the progress he observed, commenting, "What I have seen here is impressive. The people of Zakho deserve recognition for their hard work and achievements."

His message reflected a commitment to both the continued development of Zakho and the need for a peaceful, constructive election process in the Kurdistan Region.
