Peshmerga member seriously injured in ISIS bomb explosion near Khurmatu
The victim, identified as Mohammed Ahmad Ali, a resident of Khurmatu, sustained severe injuries resulting in the loss of one of his legs.
ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – A Peshmerga member was seriously injured in an ISIS-planted bomb explosion in the area between Khurmatu and Kifri on Monday, according to a statement from the Peshmerga Ministry.
The blast occurred within the area of responsibility of the 3rd Brigade of the Iraqi army, where Peshmerga forces are also deployed.
The victim, identified as Mohammed Ahmad Ali, a resident of Khurmatu, sustained severe injuries resulting in the loss of one of his legs.
Wahab Ahmad, the director of Nawjoul village, corroborated the incident to Kurdistan24, stating that the explosion occurred in the area of the 20th Brigade, a joint unit of Peshmerga and Iraqi army forces.
Peshmerga forces in the area reported to Kurdistan24 that the bomb detonated in the Qara area during a search operation.
