PM Barzani inaugurates Iraq Stars League in Duhok

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani delivered an inaugural speech on Friday at the opening ceremony of the Iraq Stars League, marking the first time the event has been hosted in the Kurdistan Region.
“This is the first time such an event has been held in the Kurdistan Region, and I am very pleased to participate in this sporting occasion today,” Prime Minister Barzani said. He welcomed the attendees and extended warm wishes for an enjoyable evening.
The Prime Minister also expressed hope for an exciting match between Duhok SC and al-Zawraa SC, as fans from across Iraq gathered for the highly anticipated game.
Adnan Dirjal, President of the Iraq Football Association, also addressed the crowd, expressing his appreciation for Prime Minister Barzani's presence and the Kurdistan Regional Government’s support in hosting the event. Dirjal commended the fans who traveled from Zakho to Basra, noting the widespread enthusiasm for this year’s league.
Looking ahead, Dirjal voiced hopes for further advancements in Iraqi football, envisioning the Iraq Stars League as one of the top football leagues in the region and across the Arab world.
