KDP President Masoud Barzani launches parliamentary election campaign with call for unity and confidence

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – On Wednesday, Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) President Masoud Barzani officially launched the KDP’s campaign for the upcoming Kurdistan Region Parliamentary election. In his speech, President Barzani emphasized the historical significance of the Kurdistan Region, stating, "The Kurdistan Region is the product of the blood of martyrs, the blood of Anfal victims, the blood of heroic Peshmergas, and the struggle of the Kurdish people."

President Barzani also congratulated the Kurdish people for their resilience, particularly in reference to the September 25 referendum, in which the region voted for independence. "The Kurdish people have proven that their will cannot be broken," he said, praising the decision made on that historic day.

As the campaign for the sixth session of the Kurdistan Parliament begins, President Barzani expressed optimism and confidence in the KDP's prospects. "With the courage of the KDP, we will prepare ourselves for October 20 and achieve a great victory. Believe in yourselves, and with high hopes and strong confidence, we will succeed, God willing," he urged party members.

He extended his gratitude to the Kurdish people for standing firm against foreign conspiracies aimed at undermining the Kurdistan Region. "I thank the Kurdish citizens for their resistance and support," he stated.

The KDP leader reaffirmed the party’s commitment to peace, democracy, and coexistence, stressing the importance of unity during the election. "We want people to live happy and prosperous lives. I ask you to remain patient, avoid violence and harsh language, and protect your party from any internal conflicts," President Barzani concluded.

The KDP is expected to play a central role in the upcoming elections, with the campaign officially underway and the region preparing for a highly anticipated vote on October 20.
