PM Masrour Barzani attends Copper, Cable company opening ceremony

The Erbil Copper and Cable Company created job opportunities for almost 200 people, 160 of them are locals.

ERBIL, Kurdistan Region (Kurdistan 24) –  The Prime Minister Masrour Barzani attends Copper and Cable company’s opening ceremony of the Erbil Copper & Cable Company, on Wednesday. It is the first metal copper, wire and cable factory in the Kurdistan Region and Iraq.

The company provides assembling, design, manufacture, testing, delivery, connecting and transferring and supply of high quality and standard metal copper wire and cable.

The project cost is more than $80 million, and covers an area of ​​175,000 square meters, including six factories.

Establishing such project began in early 2021, completed in the late 2023.

The Erbil Copper and Cable Company created job opportunities for almost 200 people, 160 of them are locals.

The 6 factories’ work:

- Copper scrap melting plant
- Copper melt molding plant
- Copper smaller making-mold site  
- PVC manufacturing factory
- Cable manufacturing factory
- Oxygen production factory

Furthermore, the large factory has its own electricity generating station with a capacity of 11.4  MW. It holds two European certificates.
