ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – Shakhawan Abdullah, Deputy Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament, announced on Wednesday that a majority of Kurdish, Shiite, and Sunni parties, with the exception of Taqadum, support the adoption of a bill to cancel decisions made by the Revolutionary Council under the previous regime.

During a press conference, Abdullah expressed gratitude to President Masoud Barzani for his consistent support in reaching agreements with various political parties, paving the way for progress on this important legislation.

"The Kurdish and Shiite parties are united in backing this bill, which seeks to nullify the unjust decisions of the former regime, particularly those affecting land rights for Kurdish citizens in Kurdish territories," Abdullah stated.

He further noted that most Sunni parties, aside from Taqadum, also support the bill aimed at correcting historical injustices in land ownership and other legal matters tied to the decisions of the Revolutionary Council.

The bill represents a significant step toward addressing longstanding grievances, particularly for Kurdish citizens whose land was affected by the policies of the Ba'athist regime.
