Iraqi Turkmen Front condemns attack on Turkmen House official in Kirkuk

ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) – The Iraqi Turkmen Front strongly condemned the targeting of Saygın Hajer Oğlu, an official at the Turkmen House, who was injured in an explosive device attack in Kirkuk on Saturday.
The explosion also injured five other civilians in what the Front described as a terrorist attempt to destabilize the region.

In a statement issued on Saturday, the Iraqi Turkmen Front expressed outrage over the incident, stating: “The Iraqi Turkmen Front condemns in the strongest terms the treacherous terrorist bombing that targeted the al-Musalla area in Kirkuk, resulting in the serious injury of the official of the Turkmen House, Mr. Saygın Hajer Oğlu, along with a number of unarmed civilian citizens.”
The statement further noted that this "cowardly act" was intended to undermine the security and stability of Kirkuk and disrupt national unity.
“This attack reflects the terrorist groups' intent to spread chaos and destabilize the province’s diverse community,” the Front stated.
The Turkmen Front emphasized that such criminal actions would only strengthen their resolve to defend the rights of the Turkmen community and preserve unity within the province.
They called on the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces to take immediate steps to maintain security in Kirkuk, which had stabilized following previous law enforcement operations.
The statement urged the federal government to bolster security in Kirkuk, protect public figures and citizens, and ensure that the perpetrators are brought to justice and face the harshest penalties.
Expressing solidarity, the Turkmen Front offered their full support to Saygın Hajer Oğlu and his family, wishing him a speedy recovery. They also extended their thoughts to the people of Kirkuk, who continue to endure repeated terrorist attacks.
The Front concluded by calling on political and societal leaders to unite and confront the security challenges threatening the province’s stability, stressing the importance of standing together to safeguard the unity of Kirkuk’s people.
