ERBIL, Kurdistan Region (Kurdistan 24) – The Kurdistan Region’s President (KRP) Nechirvan Barzani extended congratulations to the Yezidi community for celebrating the occasion of the Jamayi Feast.

The Jamayi Feast, also known as "Ziyarat" (pilgrimage), is an important religious occasion that begins on October 6 and lasts until October 13. Yezidis from around the world gather at Lalish Temple, the faith’s holiest site, to participate in a series of rituals over a seven-day period.

The full transcript of KRP’s message:

“I warmly and heartfelt congratulate all of the Yezidi sisters and brothers in Kurdistan, Iraq and anywhere in the world.

I wish a safe and peaceful feast for all.

May this feast and all other feasts celebrated by Yezidis be cherished with joys and memories.

We reassure our Yezidi citizens that we will consistently support and protect their rights and demands.

Kurdistan Region shall remain a safe haven and a place for coexistence for all ethnic and religious communities.

Wishing you all a happy and blessed day”
