PM Masrour Barzani elevates Taq Taq to district status
The Prime Minister emphasized that this move would benefit the local population and alleviates the administrative burden on the neighboring district of Koya.
ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani has signed an order officially elevating Taq Taq to district status.
According to Regional Decree No. 335, the newly established Taq Taq district will maintain the same boundaries as the current Taq Taq area within Erbil province. The order takes effect immediately, as of October 14.
The decision to elevate Taq Taq to district status was announced by Prime Minister Barzani on September 25.
The Prime Minister emphasized that this move would benefit the local population and alleviates the administrative burden on the neighboring district of Koya.
Additionally, it would provide greater autonomy and recognition to Taq Taq.
