France seeks repatriation of death row inmates from Iraq

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) - France has requested the transfer of 11 French citizens sentenced to death in Iraq on terrorism charges, seeking their return under international prisoner transfer agreements.
Iraqi Justice Ministry officials told Agence France-Presse (AFP) that "Iraqi law permits foreign inmates to be transferred to their home countries to complete their sentences, and these 11 French convicts fall under this provision."
