ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – The Kurdistan Regional Government's Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs launched the "Job Portal" initiative at the Erbil International Exhibition in Sami Abdul Rahman Park on Sunday, Nov. 10, 2024, at 10:30 AM, aimed at facilitating employment opportunities for citizens.
Nazmi Musa, Deputy Director General of Labor and Social Security at the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, told Kurdistan24, "The Job Portal is a region-wide platform where employers can post their job openings. Job seekers can also find suitable positions based on their experience and expertise through the portal."
The official noted that currently, only the private sector is participating in the portal, but expressed hope that the public sector (government) would join in the future, making government job opportunities more accessible to citizens.
"We at the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, in coordination with the Erbil Chamber of Commerce and Industry, have introduced this portal to employers," Musa said.
He added, "Job seekers can visit us at the exhibition where our teams will create free accounts for them, enabling them to easily search for their desired positions."
This digital initiative represents a significant step in modernizing the Kurdistan Region's job market and addressing unemployment challenges. The platform aims to bridge the gap between employers and job seekers, making the job search process more efficient and accessible.
The implementation of such a digital solution aligns with the KRG's efforts to digitize services and support private sector growth. The potential future inclusion of public sector opportunities could make this platform a comprehensive resource for job seekers across all sectors in the Kurdistan Region.
