ERBIL, Kurdistan Region (Kurdistan 24) – The Kurdistan Region Government (KRG) Spokesperson, Peshawa Hawramani, highlighted that the Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani’s visit to Erbil on Wednesday reflected his interest to resolve the outstanding issues between Baghdad and Erbil.

It is also an important step towards opening the door to joint dialogue to address the important issues, as well as to sustaining mutual visits and meetings between the two sides.

Hawramani added in that special interview by Kurdistan 24 "the visit by Iraqi Prime Minister is a positive initiative, holding a joint meeting with the Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government, in which lasted about an hour, addressed a number of important files."

Hawramani further explained “Al-Sudani pointed to the issue of salaries, which was settled by a decision from the Federal Court, and we should not face any problems in this regard”

According to his statement the meeting covered the oil file, where the Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government called on the involvement of the third party (oil companies) in any dialogues.

Involving the oil companies in the procedure means assessing, clarifying the costs of oil extraction and reaching a final agreement, noting that stopping Kurdistan oil exports harmed the Iraqi state treasury.

Hawramani revealed that Al-Sudani was positive in his response regarding this file.
