Global demand for electric vehicles is rising

ERBIL, Kurdistan Region (Kurdistan 24) – According to the car industrial statistics the electric vehicle sale hits a record 1.7 million units last October, 2024.

The figures show there is an increase by %35 in the same period last year, according to monthly report by Rho Motion for car research in London.

The electric car market is experiencing a notable record internationally, with most of the sales growth in China and Western manufacturers.

Sales of electric cars in China hit 1.2 million last month October 2024, %50 increased comparing to the same period last year.

The UK, Europe and the European Free Trade Association (EFTA) each recorded more than 260.000 electric vehicle sales, %1 in comparison to the same period last year.

However, according to other research and economic data in transport industry, sales of electric vehicles in Germany rose only by %3, the sale fell %18 overall.

It is said that Volkswagen, one of Europe's largest carmakers, would close 3 vehicle manufacturing plants in Germany, in the meanwhile Chinese companies continue to dominate European markets.

The sources show that selling electric vehicles in the first 10 months of this year 2024 rose %24 comparing to last year, 13.3 million vehicles sold.

Depending on the data and statistics, China is leading the way by %38 growth and followed by Britain and Europe with 2.5 million vehicles each.

The United States and Canada experienced the electric vehicle sales by %9, 1.4 million vehicles sold, while sales growth in that respect for the rest of the world is by %27, 1 million electric vehicles sold.
