Population Statistics: Rate of participation in general population census in Iraqi provinces

ERBIL, Kurdistan Region (Kurdistan 24) – The Governor Abdul Qader al-Dakhil, the Head of the High Population Statistics Board in Nineveh province, stated that the general population census rate in Nineveh province reached 100 percent.

Earlier, Abdul Zahra al-Hindawi, the Spokesperson at the Iraqi Ministry of Planning, stated to Kurdistan 24 on Thursday 21st, 2024 “today we are in the second day of the census process, it was relatively successful”

He also added "so far, the process is being conducted in a planned manner and the success rate is increasing hour after hour in all Iraqi provinces, so I can say the success rate is 70% so far."

It is understood from his statement that after the completion of the second stage of the general census, the third phase begins.

The census dedicated teams will visit families, to double check the details, all the application forms of families will be reviewed and revised, that will be until December 10th, 2024.

According to the earlier announcements about the general population statistics by the Ministry of Planning and the Census Office in Baghdad, on November 21st, 2024, the rate in some provinces reached beyond %90, Erbil %97.39, Diwaniya province %80, and Salahaddin %98.
