ERBIL (Kurdistan24) - Mahmood Mohammed, spokesman for the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP), clarified on Friday that recent party visits to political entities were not aimed at government formation but rather at addressing concerns among various parties.
Speaking to Kurdistan24 during the MEPS forum in Dohuk, Mohammed stated, "The KDP's previous visits to political parties were not about forming a government, but rather aimed at alleviating concerns that some parties might have had."
The spokesman emphasized the delicate nature of the current situation: "The situation is sensitive, and the KDP wants all parties to shoulder responsibility and participate in rebuilding the Kurdistan Region's institutions."
Mohammed revealed future plans for formal negotiations: "After the final results of the Kurdistan Parliament elections are ratified and approved, a KDP delegation led by Hoshyar Zebari will begin visiting political parties" for government formation talks.
