Kurdistan Regional Minister of Interior “No state weapons are allowed to be taken home from work-shift”

ERBIL, Kurdistan Region (Kurdistan 24) – There is a new law by the Kurdistan Regional Government regarding the security, police and Peshmerga forces’ weapons.
On Monday, the Kurdistan Regional Minister of Interior Reber Ahmed stated to Kurdistan 24 “the new law that has been issued by the 9th Cabinet of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) regarding the weapons belong to the state, not to be taken home at the end of the work-shift.”
Kurdistan 24 understands from the new issued law is for the weapons to be under state’s secured supervision and controlled.
According to the Miniter’s statement necessary measures have been taken by the police, security and Peshmerga force regarding any related matter to the legally permitted weapons.
Understanding from this law, those steps are for the safety and security and will be applied, the Minister also added "there is a generalized plan in hand that could lead to better actions in the near future,"
The rest of actions and procedure depend on cooperation with the judiciary to deal with who commits crimes.
“There will be cooperation and collaboration with the justice authorities to bring anyone who commits crimes to the justice to get punished, and no one can protect them” Mr. Ahmed further added.
