PM Masrour Barzani receives outgoing Italian Consul General Michele Camerota

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – On Saturday, the Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani received the Italian Consul General to the Kurdistan Region Michele Camerota, marking the end of his diplomatic mission.

According to a statement issued by the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) following the meeting, "Prime Minister Masrour Barzani commended the Italian Consul General for his efforts in advancing the bilateral relations between the Kurdistan Region and Italy during his diplomatic mission and wished him success in his future assignments."

The outgoing Consul General Camerota expressed his gratitude for the cooperation and coordination with KRG institutions and reiterated his country's aspiration to advance bilateral relations further.

Italy and the Kurdistan Region have maintained close bilateral relations during the past few years. The Italian Consulate General in Erbil has facilitated such close ties.

The relationship includes several different sectors including military training of the Peshmerga forces, culture (particularly in terms of archeological works), trade, and humanitarian cooperation.
