KRG Parliament announces agenda for first session of sixth term

The session's agenda consists of four main items.

ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) - On Saturday, the media office of the Kurdistan Region’s Parliament issued the agenda for the first autumn session of the sixth parliamentary term which is scheduled for Monday, Dec.  2, 2024, at 11:00 AM.

The session's agenda consists of four main items:

1. The session is started with a recital of verses from the Holy Quran.

2. To honor Kurdistan's martyrs, a minute of silence is going to be held.

3. In accordance with Article 11, Paragraph 2, and Article 12, Paragraph 1 of Parliament's internal procedures, the oldest elected parliamentarian is to be invited to take oath and chair the session.  

4. The elected candidates are then going to be called by the session’s president to take their legal oath according to Article 12, Paragraph 2 of Parliament's internal procedures, after which the session will proceed under the chairman's direction following parliamentary bylaws

The Kurdistan Parliament's sixth term follows elections that took place earlier this year. This inaugural session marks the formal beginning of the new parliamentary term and is crucial for the formation of the Kurdistan Regional Government's tenth cabinet.
