Iraq, UAE discuss regional security, express support for Syria

As stated by the Iraqi Foreign Ministery, Minister Hussein has underscored the dangers of negative implications these current unfolding events and conflicts in Syria might have for the broader stability of the region.

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – Iraq and the United Arab Emirates reiterated their support to Syria to confront terrorism and extremism.

Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement following the phone call between Iraq’s Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein and H.E. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the Foreign Minister of the United Arab Emirates.

The readout suggests that the two ministers discussed the ongoing situation and the security status in Syria.

As stated by the Iraqi Foreign Ministery, Minister Hussein has underscored the dangers of negative implications these current unfolding events and conflicts might have for the broader stability of the region.

The minister has “emphasized the importance of regional cooperation to confront shared challenges.”

According to the readout, both sides reiterated their support to Syria to confront acts of terrorism and extremism.

During the conversation, the UAE Foreign Minister expressed his wishes for stability, security, and welfare for Iraq.
