PM Masrour Barzani, Belgian Ambassador discuss formation of government, regional development

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – On Tuesday, the Kurdistan Region’s Prime Minister Masrour Barzani welcomed the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Belgium to Iraq Mr. Serge Dickschen.

In a statement, the Kurdistan Regional Government indicated that “the Belgian Ambassador congratulated the Kurdistan Region for conducting a peaceful and successful parliamentary election for the sixth term of the Kurdistan Region’s Parliament.”

According to the statement, both sides agreed that the formation of a new government cabinet in the near future is crucial, highlighting the positive steps shown in the first session of the parliament on Monday, Dec. 2.

In another part of the meeting, as stated in the announcement, “the two sides discussed the importance of safeguarding and insisting on constitutional rights, financial rights and resumption of export of Kurdistan Region’s oil.”

Another important aspect of the discussion revolved around the recent regional developments in particular in Syria.
