Soran Omar to Al-Sudani "armed groups smuggle oil from Kirkuk"

On his turn in the debate Omar addressed the Iraqi Prime Minister stressing that the smuggling of Iraqi oil happens by the armed groups and transferred to the neighbouring countries.

ERBIL, Kurdistan Region (Kurdistan 24) – In the session held on Wednesday, December 4th, 2024, by the Iraqi Parliament where the Iraqi Prime Minister, Mohammed Shia al-Sudani attended, a member from the Kurdish political party Justice Group, Soran Omar, talked about smuggling oil from Iraq. 

On his turn in the debate Omar addressed the Iraqi Prime Minister stressing that the smuggling of Iraqi oil happens by the armed groups and transferred to the neighbouring countries. 

“I have an explanation to your statement regarding the oil-export from Kurdistan Region, my explanation is the oil is smuggled by the armed groups, they are known to you and everyone, including the 100,000 barrels of oil smuggled from Kirkuk, taken to the neighbouring countries.” Omar stated.
