German Defense Minister meets with KRP Nechirvan Barzani
The meeting covered the latest developments in Syria as well as the impacts on the Coalitions Force's mission in the whole region also activities against ISIS, the general situation of Iraq and Germany's relations with both Iraq and Kurdistan Region in various respects.

ERBIL, Kurdistan Region (Kurdistan 24) – The German Defense Minister, Boris Pistorius welcomed by the Kurdistan Region President (KRP), Nechirvan Barzani on Thursday, The German Minister was accompanied by a number of official seniors from the German Federal Parliament, governments, diplomats and military.
The meeting covered the latest developments in Syria as well as the impacts on the Coalitions Force's mission in the whole region also activities against ISIS, the general situation of Iraq and Germany's relations with both Iraq and Kurdistan Region in various respects.
His Excellency the Kurdistan Region President (KRP), Nechirvan Barzani extended gratitude and appreciation on behalf of Kurdistan Region to Germany country's continuous support to Iraq and the Kurdistan Region in all areas, he commended Germany's role in supporting the Kurdistan Region in the fight against ISIS, assistance in the process of reforming as well as reunifying the Peshmerga and aid to the communities, especially Yezidis.
Furthermore, in the session, the German Defense Minister emphasized his country's commitment to continue to support and expand joint assistances to Iraq and Kurdistan Region in different fields.
The meeting also discussed the Kurdistan parliamentary general elections, efforts to form a new government cabinet, Erbil-Baghdad relations and other matters of common interest.
The meeting was attended by Sheikh Jaafar Sheikh Mustafa, KR Vice President, Minister of Peshmerga Affairs, Chief of Peshmerga Staff, German Ambassador to Iraq and Kurdistan Regional Government Representative in Germany.
In a message posted through X platform, His Excellency KR President Nechirvan Barzani highly valued Germany’s continuous support and assistance for Kurdistan Region and Iraq.
