ERBIL, Kurdistan Region (Kurdistan 24) – The Kurdistan Region President (KRP), Nechirvan Barzani extended gratitude and appreciation on behalf of people of Kurdistan to Ismail Beşikçi, the Turkish author, sociologist, expert, and advocate for the Kurd's rights, in a meeting held, in Erbil, on Sunday.
The KRP Nechirvan Barzani also thanked and lauded Beşikçi for his efforts, support to the Kurdish people's cause as well as his advocating for Kurds to achieve their rights, especially Beşikçi's work regarding Kurdology.
From his side, Beşikçi expressed his gladness for visiting Kurdistan Region, witnessing all the progress and development in the region, and reaffirmed his and his foundation's constant support for the Kurd's rights.
It was understood that in the meeting, Beşikçi with utterance of optimism, expressed that there is a bright future ahead of the people of Kurdistan.
The Governor of Erbil, several university teachers also the management team from Ismail Beşikçi Foundation attended the session.
The foundation principles are to help students and researchers with their academic and scientific pursuits into Kurdish-related cause and issues, its headquarter is in Istanbul, Turkey.
Beşikçi spent 17 years in prisons, charged with defending and advocating for the Kurdish people's rights as a nation of millions of populations with no state.
