Erbil (Kurdistan24) – The government media office in Gaza announced that the number of journalists killed has risen to 201 after five journalists from the al-Quds Today satellite channel were killed in an Israeli airstrike that targeted their vehicle in the Nuseirat refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip.

On Thursday, the Government Media Office said in a press statement that the number of killed journalists has risen to 201 journalists, male and female, since the start of the conflict.

The statement added that the Israeli army bombed the channel's external broadcast vehicle and killed the five journalists while they were performing their journalistic work in the Nuseirat camp in the central Gaza Strip (dawn on Thursday).

The Government Media Office condemned in the strongest terms "the targeting, killing, and assassination of Palestinian journalists by the Israeli occupation."

It called on the International Federation of Journalists, the Arab Journalists Union, and all journalistic bodies in all countries of the world to condemn these systematic crimes against Palestinian journalists and media professionals in the Gaza Strip.

Besides holding Israel responsible for the airstrike that killed the five journalists, the Government Media Office also named the US administration, the United Kingdom, Germany, and France.
