Erbil municipality implements 121 service projects worth 73.8 billion dinars in 2024

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – The Erbil Municipality Presidency has released a full report specifying noteworthy urban development initiatives implemented throughout 2024.

According to the report, the municipality carried out 121 service projects in central Erbil with a total investment of 73.875 billion, 602 thousand, and 520 dinars, drawing from a variety of funding sources including the municipality's 100% and 15% budgets, investment funds, financial allocations, and directorate revenues.

The report underlines numerous key achievements in urban infrastructure and services.

The municipality's asphalt plant produced 15,271 tons of asphalt, which was used for road maintenance and pothole repairs across the city.

Moreover, the municipality processed 1,682 contracts covering various commercial establishments, including shops, garages, warehouses, contracting businesses, markets, bakeries, and car showrooms.

Municipal waste management operations in central Erbil needed a considerable investment of 18.561 billion and 48 thousand dinars.

The city's greening initiatives showed outstanding progress, with the Parks Engineering Directorate planting 91,831 trees and 54,859 flowers, successfully expanding the city's green coverage to 15-20%.

The project funding categorization shows a strategic allocation of resources across different budgetary sources.

Of the total projects, 64 were funded through the municipality's 100% and 15% revenue streams.

The Erbil Governorate budget reinforced 35 projects, while the Ministry of Municipality and Tourism's investment budget backed four projects.

One project was executed through financial budget allocation, and 17 projects were implemented using revenues and advances from a variety of municipal directorates.
