PM Barzani, Azerbaijani President discuss strengthening bilateral ties at Davos forum

During the meeting, President Aliyev expressed his satisfaction at the opportunity to engage with Prime Minister Barzani and underscored the deep-rooted relationship between Azerbaijan and the Kurdish people.

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani met with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev on Tuesday on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, according to a statement from the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG).

During the meeting, President Aliyev expressed his satisfaction at the opportunity to engage with Prime Minister Barzani and underscored the deep-rooted relationship between Azerbaijan and the Kurdish people. He also conveyed Azerbaijan's readiness to resume direct flights between Baku and Erbil, aiming to enhance connectivity and economic cooperation.

Prime Minister Barzani, in turn, expressed his gratitude for Azerbaijan's ongoing support and coordination. He emphasized the significance of strengthening bilateral relations in various sectors, including trade, energy, and cultural exchange, to further mutual interests.

The meeting between the two leaders reflects a shared commitment to fostering closer ties and exploring opportunities for future collaboration in multiple fields.
