ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – On Wednesday, Iraq’s Foreign Minister, Fuad Hussein, announced that the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) delegation is scheduled to meet with Iraq’s Ministry of Finance for the second time next week.
During a press conference at Kurdistan House in Davos, Hussein stated, "The upcoming meeting between the KRG delegation and Iraq’s Ministry of Finance will focus on discussions about non-oil revenues and Kurdistan’s share of these revenues."
Hussein noted that last week, the KRG delegation and Iraq’s Minister of Finance, Taif Sami, met at his residence in Baghdad to discuss Iraq’s non-oil revenues. "The topics for next week’s meeting will include Kurdistan’s percentage share of Iraq’s non-oil revenues and the criteria used to determine this percentage," Hussein revealed.
He concluded with optimism, stating, "Hopefully, they will reach an agreement in this upcoming meeting."
The negotiations between the Kurdistan Regional Government and Iraq’s Ministry of Finance are part of ongoing efforts to ensure equitable sharing of non-oil revenues. These talks are crucial for defining the financial relationship between the KRG and the central government, impacting budget allocations and regional economic stability.
